African doctor aims to spread TCM globally

Diarra Boubacar, born in Mali, West Africa, is the first foreigner to have earned a doctorate in traditional Chinese medicine in China.

He came to China in the 1980s. In 1997, he received a doctoral degree from the Chengdu University of TCM. He offered free medical services to Yunnan's villagers and has trained thousands of rural doctors in the 1990s.

This video tells the story of his early career, and the reason he chose to study TCM. After being a doctor for 30 years, now he has a new plan.
